Dear Colleagues and Friends,

Following the successful RAP 2025 conference in Crete, we are pleased to announce that the next edition — RAP 2026 — will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, from 25–29 May 2026 at the Campus Tecnológico e Nuclear. Lisbon, one of Europe’s most vibrant and charming capitals, will provide an unforgettable backdrop for scientific exchange, networking, and cultural exploration.

RAP 2026 will be a hybrid conference, allowing for full interaction between onsite and online participants. Conference publications will include the Book of Abstracts and Conference Proceedings. As in previous years, we are also working on arranging a special issue in a peer-reviewed scientific journal for full papers.

Lisbon offers a unique blend of intellectual inspiration and cultural richness. Nestled along the Atlantic coast, the city invites you to explore iconic yellow trams, historic neighbourhoods such as Alfama and Belém, and panoramic viewpoints over red-tiled rooftops and the Tagus River. Sample world-famous pastéis de nata, enjoy live Fado music in atmospheric taverns, or stroll along the waterfront — all while soaking in Lisbon’s warm hospitality and timeless charm. With excellent accessibility, nearby UNESCO World Heritage sites, and scenic coastal landscapes, Lisbon is the perfect place to combine professional growth with enriching travel experiences.

Our social programme will offer participants the opportunity to connect in relaxed and memorable settings:

• Tuesday: Cocktail reception aboard a boat cruising the Tagus River, offering breathtaking views of Lisbon’s skyline and waterfront landmarks.
• Thursday: An authentic Portuguese evening featuring dinner and live Fado music, immersing you in Lisbon’s UNESCO-listed musical heritage.
• Friday: A full-day excursion to Sintra and the Lisbon coast, including visits to fairy-tale palaces, dramatic Atlantic vistas, and the westernmost point of continental Europe, Cabo da Roca.

These events are designed to foster both professional networking and cultural immersion, making your RAP 2026 experience truly unforgettable.

• Abstract (1-page) deadline: 28 February 2026
• Full paper deadline (for Proceedings/journal): 31 July 2026

Please note that all registration options include publication of up to two abstracts in the Book of Abstracts. In addition, all options, except for virtual offline participation, cover submission of one full paper to the Proceedings or journal. Submission of full papers is not obligatory.
