Instructions for submission of full papers
RAP 2023 participants have the following two options regarding publication of their full paper based on conference contribution:
- Special Issue of Applied Radiation and Isotopes,or
- RAP 2023 Proceedings.
The deadline for submission is 30 June 2023 for both options.
Instructions for Special Issue of Applied Radiation and Isotopes:
- The manuscripts should be submitted directly to the journal. Please visit journal website and familiarise yourself with journal and its procedures. Particularly important are Aims & Scope and Guide for Authors – your manuscript should be in accordance with guidelines in these documents.
- IMPORTANT: during the submission process, under “Article Type Selection”, please select “VSI: Applications of Radiation” from a drop-down menu.
- ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTION: During submission process, when completing “Additional Information” step, please choose Executive Editor Maciej Maciak, responsible for this special issue, from the drop down list. This editor was added to the list by the journal on 20 June 2023. Note that if you started submission before this change was made and wish to continue from where you left, the above choice may not be available. For proper editor selection, you will need to start new submission from scratch.
Manuscripts submitted to the special issue will undergo journal’s standard reviewing procedure. In case your paper is not accepted for the journal, we offer an option of publishing it in RAP 2023 Proceedings.

Dear RAP 2023 participants,
Thank you for taking part in this year's conference, as well as for your interesting presentations, discussions and company. We can't wait to see you again at RAP 2024, which we have already started preparing.
We are proud to say that we had participants from 30 countries onsite and from 5 more online, and that people from all around the globe attended the conference. We are very grateful for that!

Transfers from the airport
General information about transportation from/to Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos can be found on the airport web page (www.aia.gr) under „Access & Transportation“ tab.
The fastest way to reach Anavyssos from the airport is by taxi. If you are interested in this option, you may wish to consider services of a tourist agency „Exploration Unlimited“, which offers individual or group transfers from the airport to Anavyssos at the following prices:
- 1-4 persons – 50 EUR
- 5-8 persons – 90 EUR
- 9-16 persons – 130 EUR
The above prices are for one way transfer per vehicle (not per person), VAT included, payable in cash to the driver.

Abstract Portal is still open
The abstract submission deadline (1 April) has just passed, however, we will keep the conference Abstract Portal open for the researchers who may wish to submit their one page abstracts in the following weeks. Notifications of acceptance of these abstracts will be sent within 2-3 days of submission.

Registration is now open
Registration for RAP 2023 is now open. Please register using an online Registration Form. We encourage registration as early as possible; however, please register only when you are certain that you will participate in the conference. Please also note that the participation is possible without a submitted abstract.

Social programme details
We are finalising conference social programme, which will include the following:
- Welcome cocktail by the pool of Alexander Beach Hotel,
- Half day excursion to the Temple of Poseidon, followed by
- Conference Gala Dinner at Marida Seafood Restaurant (possibly the best restaurant in a wider area), and
- Full day excursion to Athens, including the visit to Acropolis.

Special Issue of Applied Radiation and Isotopes
We are happy to announce that RAP 2023 has reached formal agreement with Applied Radiation and Isotopes on publication of the Special Issue of this Elsevier’s journal with selected papers from the conference. RAP 2023 authors interested in submitting full papers will be given a choice of submitting their manuscript either to this Special Issue or to RAP Proceedings. Manuscripts submitted to the Special Issue will undergo peer review procedure in accordance with journal’s standards. There will be no manuscript publication charge for the special issue and the completed issue will be available for free open access to everyone for three months after publication; after this period, it will be available under subscription. Authors who wish their articles to be under indefinite open access have an option of paying a publication charge to the journal.

Invitation to participate in RAP 2023
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
After a successful RAP 2022 conference, held in Thessaloniki, it is time to turn to RAP 2023. We are staying in Greece, but moving some 500 km to the south, to the Attica peninsula. Namely, RAP 2023 will be held from 29 May to 2 June 2023 at the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR) in the town of Anavyssos, 37 km from the centre of Athens and 28 km from Athens international airport Eleftherios Vanizelos.
RAP 2023 will be a hybrid conference with full interaction between onsite and online participants. Conference publications are Book of Abstracts and Conference Proceedings. In addition, we are in talks with scientific journals regarding publishing of a special issue with full papers from the conference.
When visiting Attica, one is never far from the sea and world famous historical sites, including the ones in Athens. For RAP 2023 we have selected a venue (HCMR Anavyssos) and the main conference hotel (Alexander Beach Hotel) right at the beachfront. We are arranging reach social programme, including a cocktail, gala conference dinner, and two excursions. Full details of social events will be announced closer to the conference.
We kindly invite you to submit your contribution(s) to RAP 2023. The deadline for submission of one page abstracts is 1 April 2023, and the deadline for full papers for the Proceedings is 30 June 2023. Note that the registration fees (except the one for virtual offline participation) cover both publication of the abstract and full paper in Proceedings or journal.
